What is iPM?

iPM is a term coined from the initials of "Illustrator Pattern Making system".

It is very easy to draw line drawings such as apparel patterns in Adobe Illustrator instead of paper and pencil.

However, measuring free-form curves and notching, which are unique to apparel, are not so easy to do and do not improve work efficiency.

Therefore, iPM was created as a plug-in software for Adobe Illustrator.

Digital Pattern Making as an Extension of Manual Work

Most iPM users say that they can create patterns as if they were working by hand. However, this expression may sound like a lie to those who have just started using Illustrator.

This is because, first of all, they are confused about how to use the "Pen Tool," which is a typical Illustrator tool. If you treat it like a pencil because of the image you get from the name "pen," you will not be able to draw as well as you would like. You need to get the hang of it to get used to it.

And since iPM is just a digital writing tool that is an extension of manual work, each user needs to be tactful in the way he or she creates, and there are no fixed rules for a single task, and different people may use different tools and procedures for the same task.

For creators who understand the features of Adobe Illustrator and use it in their own pattern method, iPM is an indispensable tool.
